Therapy Approaches
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
DBT helps you build practical skills to better manage emotions, cope with distress, stay present, and strengthen your relationships. It combines acceptance and validation with meaningful change, helping you understand and honor your emotions while developing healthier ways of responding.
Somatic therapy
Somatic work brings attention back to the body, particularly when emotions feel overwhelming or the nervous system is activated. Through grounding, breath, and slowing down, we practice staying with what you are experiencing while also noticing where there may be even a small sense of ease or pleasantness in the body.
Parts work
Parts work helps us understand the different parts of you that developed in response to your experiences—especially the younger parts that may still carry fear, anger, hurt, or longing. Instead of trying to get rid of these parts, we get curious about what they are protecting and what they need, while strengthening the adult part of you that can offer them care, perspective, and connection in the present.
How to Begin:
I offer a 10 minute phone consultation (no charge) before we begin. This is an opportunity to get to know what's bringing you in, answer any questions you have, and get a real sense of whether working together is a reasonable fit.
Format: Weekly or twice-weekly sessions, 50 minutes
Location: Primarily telehealth across California. Limited in-person availability in Camarillo at New Beginnings Center.
Cancellations: 24 hours notice; late cancellations are billed at the full session rate.
Insurance:I am in-network with Gold Coast/Carelon, Cigna, and Blue Shield. If I am not in-network with your insurance plan, I may be able to request a Single Case Agreement (SCA), which may allow you to receive in-network coverage for your sessions. SCA approval is determined by your insurance company. I also work on a private-pay basis. My individual therapy fee without insurance coverage is $180.
